Mountains
The people that live in mountains make their living by growing crops on terraces. The mountains on the Arabian Peninsula range in heights from 1,200 feet to 12,000 feet. Temperatures can get very cool at the summit and sometimes this can even cause frost to form sometimes. One side of the mountain is dry and one is very fertile. This happens because the mountains trap rain that is unable to pass over. The houses that are in the mountains are commonly made out of mud bricks. This is because mud bricks are the easiest to come upon in the mountains. Farmers would also store extra water in hollowed out trees such as in the picture shown. The Indian Ocean brings moisture which causes it to rain in the mountains. Riverbeds that go down the mountains flood with water when it rains.
